Antique Brooch Found Metal Detecting
Found February 24th, 2023 at the New/Old School by BHiggles • Minelab Equinox 800 metal detector • Park 1 default • Sensitivity 18 • 6″ EQX coil • sketchy 21-27 VDI • 5 inches deep
Location: New/Old School Permission
This morning was chilly! Real chilly! Me and my buddy Shane head on over the new/old school permission and get right to metal detecting! We grab our favorite detectors, mine the Minelab Equinox 800 and get to digging holes quick to warm up. 3rd hole, BAM 1945 S mint mark war nickel, a rare high 16 VDI (normally 14 for me).
Soon after a sketchy 15, 21-27 WILD SIGNAL bangs on the door! Expecting can slaw, the reliable Garrett Pro Pointer AT pin pointer gives me a hint of a signal.
This is going to required the T-handle Lesche. Dig a super clean 3/4 plug and begin my search. Soon, in my hands, is the target. Strange little target. You can just barely see the green stone peeking through the dirt. One soft swipe with my glove and the AMAZING green jade like color instantly pops out befuddling my brain! WHAT DO WE HAVE HERE???
Nearly sprinting to the Higgles Wash Station, I must go!!! Let’s get this lil gem cleaned up and see what amazing discovery we have uncovered.
Beautiful Antique Brooch Found Metal Detecting
LOOK at this amazing old relic! It was a pin. There are remnants of a clasp style pin. Dating this item is not easy as it is clearly unique and very intricate. The beautiful colored glazing just lit up in the sun as a soft touch from a toothbrush and water revealed it’s true glory! This is, by far, one of my most favorite relic finds to date. If you have any clues on a date, please leave a comment or CLICK HERE for videos of mine on YouTube!
Thank you Shane at Ohio River History for joining me on this metal detecting/treasure hunting adventure today! Shane had a VERY good day too! Scored his first silver coin during a collaboration of ours together finally. He also scored some great relics too! Swing on by his YouTube channel and be sure to tell him BHiggles sent you!!
