100 Days Metal Detecting
with Minelab Equinox 800
100 Days Metal Detecting with Minelab Equinox 800. June 2nd, 2021 marks the 100th day metal detecting with the Minelab Equinox 800. My very first metal detecting adventure was on Feb 22nd, 2021. I pulled my first coin from the earth that day, along with some other treasures. This post highlights and rewinds my last 100 days metal detecting with the Minelab Equinox 800.
Why did you choose the Minelab Equinox 800?
Like many Americans during 2020, I was stuck in lock down, no where to go and not much to do. So, I resorted to online streaming services like YouTube, Netflix, Hulu & Disney + to entertain my brain during the Covid 19 restrictions.
I watched thousands of videos and many from one channel that I really love called Diggin’ SoCal. Bill & Christine were an inspiration to me and were a big part of why I got started detecting. I did all the research and read all the reviews about all the different machines and finally decided on the Equinox 800. I chose the Minelab Equinox 800 because of all the reviews I read and watched online.
There are many brands of detectors like Minelab, Garrett, Simplex and more. So many options in price also to help you find the metal detector that is right for you. Do your research! I purchased the Nox 800 because it was in my price range, is totally waterproof and came with wireless headphones. These options were important to me. You may have other needs, so chose according to your goals in detecting.
The Treasure
In my first 100 days metal detecting I have discovered some amazing treasures! Simple things like clad coins, bling jewelry, tokens, buttons, pendants, bracelets, earrings, and of course, loads of trash, pull tabs, bottle caps and can slaw. I have also found some amazing relics like a Tex Cap Gun, and old 1800’s button and a boudoir vanity case. I have found 2 silver Mercury Dimes, 2 old Buffalo Nickels and a Polish Grosz. Below is a video production showcasing my first 100 days metal detecting with the Nox 800. The Ganz Turtle Figurine is my favorite!
Metal detecting and bass fishing,… maybe my two favorite pass times. May I ask, what part of the country are you in?
