Collaboration with my granddaughter!
Recently my granddaughter was able to join me metal detecting! It was a gorgeous spring day in 2023 and the finds were outstanding! She loves to use the Minelab Equinox 800 metal detector with the 6″ EQX coil. This makes the detector very light and easy to manage for a 10 year old.
Jammed Packed!
Quarter Hill is always jammed packed with treasures from the late 1800’s to modern clad coins. On this day she scored 3 BUCKET LISTS! First up was a beautiful 1950’s wheat cent in very nice condition. Next was an older house fuse and finally an amazing skeleton key! We dug deep for this one, ringing like a nasty ole iron nail, but instead we were rewarded with an incredible relic. This is the 2nd skeleton key found at this old school & historic festival grounds location.
The Garrett Pro Pointer AT pin pointer never lets us down. She really enjoys the pin pointing part of the discovery of treasures. Really top notch lil next generation detectorist. I am very proud of her and she is welcome to join me on my adventures anytime. I think it is a good thing to help the youth find something outdoors to attract their attention instead of constantly looking at their cell phones. Here is another adventure we had together where she found her first half dollar coin!
Our Last Hunt
During this adventure we also score a sweet Matchbox toy car and other various modern clad coin discoveries. Metal detecting schools is always a joy and the pickin’s are easy peasy! Read More Blogs
i have a machine for treasure-hunting. i think this is old key
Yep, old skeleton key! Thank you!
Anyone Guide me on which one is the best metal detector? I have already a metal and gold detector. I bought
it from http://www.goldxtradetector.com
Really depends on budget. There are great machines out there for most. Either Minelab, Nokta or XP would be my recommendations.
I’ve come across a Google ad for Goldxtra, promoting their Gold mode Goldxtra TGX-PRO Detector available on their website: https://goldxtra.com/tgx-pro. Could you provide an expert opinion on whether it’s advisable to purchase from this site?
Never used one! Sorry, I would be of no help.
